Change of pace

Did you know I love interesting trees?

These were some great ones in the park in Shenzhen (last two posts).
There were also beautiful flowers. But there were trees in bloom - in January? and the blossoms were just a little too pink. Upon investigation we found there was a lot of wire and artificial blooms involved!

Our next stop was Hong Kong. Definitely back to the big, bustling city. During some free time the first afternoon, a couple of friends and I decided to walk around, then find a place to eat. "Let's go see what's up those steps and thru those trees.

We entered an oasis of peace and beauty. And more fascinating trees!

There was a huge aviary,  including a pond of flamingos.
Rhinoceros Hornbill - Look at that beak!

No noise from the city. Just these gliding swans...

and other small creatures:

And where did we choose to eat in all of Hong Kong?
Australian food. Mmmm! A change from all the Chinese food.

This is me, Bev, and Karla taking our pictures reflected on the mirror side of a building.
